And the winner is…

The winner of the Owl Mascot Naming contest was announced on Monday, November 29th at the Attitude Character Assembly.  Marshall student, Olivia Krakower, from Ms. Scates second grade class, was announced the winner by Dr. Allen.  Olivia wrote a thoughtful letter to Dr. Allen about the name she chose, Professor Hoot.  Dr. Allen said that she received over 50 letters from students with suggestions for the name of the mascot.  Some of the most popular names included Hootie, Feathers, and Reader.  After much consideration, the panel of judges chose Olivia’s name and her class was rewarded with a lunchtime pizza party.

Thank you to all Marshall students who participated and congratulations Olivia!

Our Marshall Owl Needs a Name!

Put on your thinking caps and think of a GREAT new name for our fine-feathered friend.  From now until November 15th, Marshall students can send a letter to Dr. Allen with his or her creative name for our new, feathered friend, the Marshall Owl.  So, have a look at the Wee Deliver guidelines, help your child start writing, and send us your ideas.  The winning entrant will receive a pizza party for his/her class.  Visit www.marshalljefferson.org/Flyers/Owl Naming Contest for more information.
